What materials are available?

The teacher packs provide background information on the topics, learning outcomes and curriculum links.  They also include a suggested lesson plan to help introduce the subject, a number of classroom activities to help reinforce the key points and project examples to help you fully embrace the topics.

Who has written the materials?

The teacher packs have been written by Trees4Scotland in consultation with teacher groups who have accurately aligned the topics with outside learning activities and the curriculum for excellence. The content has had the benefit of being tweaked over a period of 5 years since its inception.

How can I access the materials?

Accessing the Tree Amigos materials is quick and easy. Registration is free and you will be provided with your own username and password. You will then have unlimited access to our members area, where you will be able to access all the materials, read news stories and share comments with other teachers.

What happens to my information once I have registered?

The information you supply on registration will enable us to keep you up to date with any relevant Tree Amigos news and may also be used for our own anonymous evaluation/statistical purposes.  Please be ensured that your name will never be used and your details will NOT be passed on to third parties.

How long does a Tree Amigos project take?

The length of the project is up to the individual school/teacher involved.  Whether it spans a couple of days, weeks or is incorporated into a term plan it is entirely up to you!

Can we come up with our own Tree Amigos project?

Yes! The teacher packs will provide some examples of short, mid-length and longer term projects to act as a guide.  Please feel free to use this or come up with something completely different.

What support can I receive from the Tree Amigos team?

We hope that the Tree Amigos materials will be easy to follow and inspire you to get involved in new environmental and outside learning activities. How can we win a field trip?

A Free field trip to plant trees with the Tree Amigos can be won by entering our annual competition. All you have to do is come up with an innovative way of highlighting what you have learned to the rest of your school or group!
